My Hark Pro review comes down to one score: I give it 4 out of 5, because it's the easiest personal AI agent I've used, but it still needs you watching every booking and payment.
Hark Pro is a personal AI agent from Hark Labs that connects to your email and apps and does real jobs on its own cloud computer.
It's free to start, it runs on the web, iOS and Android, and the paid plans only buy you more usage.
I signed up on the free plan in launch week, connected my Gmail and put it through the jobs I actually care about.
This review gives you the verdict, the scorecard, my test log, the pros and cons, whether the paid plans are worth it, what the terms really say, and who should use it.
My Hark Pro Review Verdict In One Table
If you only read one section of this Hark Pro review, read this one.
| Question | My answer |
|---|---|
| What is it? | Hark Pro is a personal AI agent that reads your email, remembers you and does tasks on its own cloud computer. |
| Who makes it? | Hark Labs makes it, and the company is run by Brett Adcock, who also founded Figure. |
| What does it cost? | It's free, with Pro² at $20 a month and Pro³ at $100 a month for more usage. |
| My score | I give it 4 out of 5. |
| Best for | It's best for busy people who want a personal agent working today without any setup. |
| Skip it if | You should skip it if you want to choose your own model or keep everything on your own machine. |
| Biggest win | Its onboarding is the easiest I've seen on any agent. |
| Biggest risk | It really does act on your accounts, so loose approvals can cost you money. |
I've written a separate Hark AI agent breakdown with every feature scored, and there's a plain explainer on what Hark Pro is and how to start as well.
This page is different, because it's the overall verdict built from the tests I ran and the small print I read.
How I Tested Hark Pro For This Review
I didn't score Hark Pro from a press release.
I signed up on the free plan, connected my real Gmail and gave it real jobs on camera.
Then I read Hark's pricing page, terms and privacy policy, because a review of an agent that can spend your money has to cover the small print.
I judged it on setup, real task completion, proactiveness, control over money, value, transparency and polish.
The Hark Pro Review Scorecard
These scores are mine, from hands-on use on the free plan.
| Criterion | Score out of 10 | Why it got that score |
|---|---|---|
| Ease of setup | 9 | It asked me to connect email first and was ready for a task in minutes. |
| Gets real jobs done | 8 | It understood a messy booking request and started the booking on its own computer. |
| Proactiveness | 9 | The proactive inbox and Prep my day suggest work before I ask. |
| Control and safety | 7 | Approvals exist, but standing permissions are easy to over-grant. |
| Value for money | 9 | Every feature is on the free plan, which is rare. |
| Transparency | 5 | Hark hasn't named the model behind its main assistant. |
| Polish and design | 10 | It feels like the Apple of AI agents. |
| Overall | 8 out of 10, or 4 out of 5 | It's the best first personal agent I've tried, with real caveats. |

My Hark Pro Test Log: What I Asked And What Happened
This is the tested evidence behind the score, in the order I ran it.
| Test | What I did | What Hark Pro did | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| Onboarding | I signed up free and connected Gmail. | It showed my details, such as location, and asked what it could take off my plate this week. | A |
| Restaurant booking | I asked for an Italian restaurant next Wednesday. | It asked for numbers and time, understood my typo, and started booking one of my favourite restaurants. | A- |
| Panels | I asked for a panel to track my productivity. | It asked whether I meant meeting hours versus focus time or a to-do list, and offered ClickUp or Asana. | A |
| Proactive inbox | I let it read my email. | It proposed action items that I could accept with a yes or a no. | B+ |
| Prep my day | I asked it to prep my day. | It checked my calendar and inbox and built an itinerary. | A |
| Voice | I spoke a request. | It took my voice input but replied in text only. | C |
Let me walk you through the tests that moved the score most.
The restaurant booking test
I typed, "Book an Italian restaurant for Wednesday next week."
Hark Pro asked me how many people were coming and what time I wanted.
I replied "6pm, two people" with a typo, and it still understood me without any fuss.
Then it opened its own computer screen and started booking one of my favourite restaurants.
I told it to stop before it completed, because I didn't want a real booking for a demo.
That test is the whole review in miniature.
It's genuinely capable, and that's exactly why you need to stay in charge of the final click.
The Panels test
Panels are mini apps on your Home screen, and you make one by typing what you want.
When I asked for a productivity panel, it didn't just guess.
It asked whether I wanted to track meeting hours versus focus time, or my to-do tasks.
It also offered to connect ClickUp or Asana to feed the panel.
The example panels I saw tracked calendar events, Shopify packages arriving this week and new Apple Podcasts episodes.
Hark's own site says Panels can also connect to services such as Strava, Spotify and Venmo, so fitness, workout and calorie tracking panels are an obvious next step.
This was the moment I stopped thinking of Hark Pro as a chatbot.
The proactive inbox and Prep my day tests
The proactive inbox reads your emails and proposes action items, and you just say yes or no.
Prep my day goes further, because it checks your calendar and inbox together and builds your itinerary for the day.
The example I saw said, "Your inbox is clean. Do you want me to pull in the sales numbers before your team sales meeting at 4 p.m.?"
That's what a good assistant does, because it spots the meeting and offers the prep before you think of it.
The voice test
You can attach files and speak your requests to Hark Pro.
It doesn't talk back, so voice is input only.
That's the weakest everyday feature, and it's why I'd still reach for a voice-first assistant when I'm driving.

Hark Pro Pros And Cons
Here's the balanced list after testing.
What I liked about Hark Pro
- The onboarding is the easiest I've had on any personal agent, and it was easier than Grok Bot.
- Connected apps work directly inside Hark's own computer, so I didn't have to log in again the way I often did with Grok Bot.
- It understood a typo-filled request and still did the right thing.
- Panels turn one sentence into a working mini app on your Home screen.
- The proactive inbox turns email into quick yes or no decisions.
- Prep my day is the feature I'd use every single morning.
- Projects give long-running work, such as planning a big event, its own threads and files.
- Every feature is on the free plan.
What I didn't like about Hark Pro
- It doesn't speak back, because voice is input only.
- Hark hasn't named the model behind its main assistant, and you can't swap it.
- It can act on real accounts, so a careless standing permission could cover purchases you didn't expect.
- It's brand new, so there's no long track record to judge it on yet.
- The paid plans are priced on "more usage" rather than a published allowance, so it's hard to know exactly what you're buying.
Is Hark Pro Worth Paying For? Free vs Pro² vs Pro³
Hark's pricing page is refreshingly simple.
Every plan gets every feature, and upgrading only raises how much you can use it.
| Plan | Price | Usage | My value verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | It gives you the base usage with every feature and no ads. | It's the right starting point for everyone. |
| Pro² | $20 a month | It gives you 2x more usage. | It's worth it only once you hit the free limit every week. |
| Pro³ | $100 a month | It gives you 10x more usage. | It only makes sense if Hark Pro runs a big part of your day. |
My advice is to stay on the free plan for at least two weeks.
If you never hit the cap, you've saved yourself $20 a month.
If you hit it every few days, Pro² is a fair price for an assistant that books, plans and triages for you.
Pro³ costs five times as much as Pro² for five times the usage of Pro², so the maths is consistent, but very few people will need it.
Before launch, Brett Adcock posted that the first 100,000 people to sign up would get a paid plan free, though reports don't agree on which tier or for how long.
So check your account before you pay for anything.

Hark Pro Privacy And Terms: What I Read Before Connecting My Wallet
This is the section most reviews skip, and it's the one that matters most for an agent that can pay for things.
Here's what Hark's own pages say, in plain English.
| Topic | What Hark says | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Age | You must be at least 18, or older if your local law says so. | Hark Pro isn't for teenagers. |
| Approvals | A transaction is authorised once you confirm it. | Your confirm button is your signature. |
| Standing permission | You can let Hark complete a category of transactions without asking first. | One loose setting can cover many future purchases. |
| Merchant of record | Hark isn't the seller for most purchases. | Refunds go through the shop or your card issuer, not Hark. |
| AI training | The privacy policy says your account won't be used to train AI models, and the terms say Hark's AI providers can't train on your content. | Your chats aren't meant to become training data. |
| Data sales | The privacy policy says Hark hasn't sold or shared personal data in the previous 12 months. | That's a good sign, but it's a statement about the past year. |
| Credentials | Hark describes a vault that no person has access to, and you can remove stored credentials at any time. | You can pull your card details out whenever you want. |
| Liability | For US users, Hark caps its liability at the greater of what you paid in the last 12 months or $100. | If something goes badly wrong, the payout is small. |
| Closing your account | Hark says it deletes or de-identifies your content, memory and stored credentials. | You can leave cleanly. |
The liability cap is the line that shaped my score most.
If Hark Pro books the wrong thing, your protection is mostly the merchant's refund policy and your card issuer.
So my rules are simple.
- Keep confirmations on for every booking and payment for the first few weeks.
- Don't grant standing permission for any category until Hark Pro has finished several jobs correctly.
- Add your wallet last, after it has proved itself on tasks that don't involve money.
- Stop any task that looks wrong, exactly as I did with the restaurant booking.
Hark Pro vs OpenClaw vs Grok Bot
These are the two comparisons I made while testing.
| What matters | Hark Pro | OpenClaw | Grok Bot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | It works straight out of the box after you connect email. | You configure it yourself. | Its onboarding was harder than Hark's in my test. |
| Connected apps | They work directly inside Hark's own computer. | They work however you wire them. | I often had to log in again through its computer. |
| Model choice | You can't choose, and Hark hasn't named it. | You choose any model you like. | It runs on xAI's Grok models. |
| Who it suits | It suits people who want a personal agent now. | It suits builders who want full control. | It suits people already living in Grok and X. |
In my words from the video, Hark Pro is a very simple, easy-to-use version of something like OpenClaw, straight out of the box.
If you'd rather build and own the whole system, this comparison of the two big open agents is worth a watch.
What About Hark's Benchmark Claims?
Hark Pro's browser work is done by Handoff, which Hark describes as its own computer use agent with a full browser on a secure computer that's individual to you.
Hark has said Handoff scored 97.7 on the Online-Mind2Web benchmark, ahead of GPT-5.4 at 92.8 and Claude Opus 4.8 at 84.1.
Those are Hark's own numbers, run with its own setup, so I treat them as vendor claims.
VentureBeat also reported that on a different test, WebTailBench v2, Handoff scored 68.6 against 72.3 for GPT 5.5.
So Handoff is clearly strong at browsing, but it doesn't win every test.
That's why my score rests on what it did in front of me, not on a leaderboard.
Who Should Use Hark Pro, And Who Should Skip It
Here's my honest recommendation after this Hark Pro review.
| You are... | My recommendation |
|---|---|
| Someone who has never had a personal agent working | You should start with Hark Pro, because it's the easiest one I've tried. |
| A busy founder drowning in email and calendar | You should try the proactive inbox and Prep my day for a week. |
| A builder who wants to pick models and own the stack | You should stick with OpenClaw or Hermes. |
| Someone with a working agent setup already | You should test Hark Pro on one job before switching anything. |
| Someone under 18 | You can't use it, because the terms require you to be 18 or over. |
A viewer asked me a fair question after the video.
They listed Hermes, Muse, Dots, Grok, OpenBot and now Hark, and asked whether the differences are big enough to switch and set everything up from scratch again.
My answer is no, if your current agent already does the job well.
Give Hark Pro one real task, and only move if it clearly wins.
I made a similar call in my ChatGPT Dots vs Muse verdict, because the launches keep coming and the real skill is choosing the right jobs and approvals.

Final Hark Pro Review Score
Hark Pro earns 4 out of 5 from me.
It's the most polished personal agent I've tested, it's free with every feature, and it genuinely does work on its own computer.
It loses a point because it doesn't talk back, it doesn't name its main model, it's brand new, and its terms put the responsibility for approvals squarely on you.
Hark also says it's working on its own hardware, and launch coverage points to 2027 for that.
I'll revisit the score once the product has a few months of real-world use behind it.
