The Hark AI agent, sold as Hark Pro, is the easiest personal AI agent I've set up so far, and my verdict is 4 out of 5 for anyone who wants one working today.

It's free, it runs on the web, iOS and Android, and it does real tasks on its own cloud computer instead of just chatting.

It loses a point because it's brand new, it doesn't disclose its main model, it doesn't talk back, and you need to watch its approvals closely.

I signed up on launch day, connected my Gmail and tested every feature on camera.

Below you'll find what Hark is, what it costs, a score for every feature, and who should and shouldn't use it.

The Hark AI Agent Verdict In 30 Seconds

Hark Pro is a personal AI agent from Hark Labs that launched on 6 October 2026.

It connects to your email and apps, remembers your preferences, and uses its own cloud computer to book, buy, plan and pay.

Here's the verdict card.

Category Verdict
Overall I rate it 4 out of 5.
Best for It's best for people who want a personal agent working today without any setup pain.
Not for It's not for builders who want to choose their own model or run everything locally.
Price It's free, with Hark Pro² at $20 a month and Hark Pro³ at $100 a month for more usage.
Biggest strength Its onboarding and design are the best I've seen on a personal agent.
Biggest weakness It can act on your money and accounts, so careless approvals are a real risk.

What Is The Hark AI Agent?

The Hark AI agent is Hark Pro, which Hark describes as "the operating system for your life".

It's made by Hark Labs, the company Brett Adcock started after the humanoid robotics firm Figure and the air taxi company Archer Aviation.

TechCrunch reported a $700 million Series A for Hark in May 2026.

The product has three parts that matter.

The first part is Handoff, Hark's own computer use agent, which spins up a virtual computer with a browser, a file system and a terminal for every request.

Hark says Handoff can run up to six browsers at once and log in to websites for you.

The second part is memory, because Hark remembers what you tell it and forgets things when you ask.

The third part is proactive thinking, which means it suggests the next job before you ask.

When I opened it, it felt like the Apple of AI agents, and honestly like what Apple should have released.

Hark AI Agent Pricing Reviewed

Hark's launch post says all of its features will always be available for free.

Plan Price Usage My take
Hark Pro Free It gives you base usage with every feature. It's the right place to start for everyone.
Hark Pro² $20 a month It gives you 2x more usage. It's worth it only if you hit the free limit every week.
Hark Pro³ $100 a month It gives you 10x more usage. It only makes sense if Hark runs a big part of your day.

Before launch, Brett Adcock said the first 100,000 sign-ups would get the paid plan free, though he didn't say for how long.

I score the pricing 9 out of 10, because putting every feature on the free plan is rare and generous.

Every Hark AI Agent Feature, Scored Out Of 10

These scores are my own, from hands-on testing on the free plan.

Feature What it does My score Why
Setup and email connect It asks you to connect email first and then shows your details, such as location. 9 It's the smoothest onboarding I've had on any agent.
Restaurant booking It asked for party size and time, then started booking on its own computer. 8 It understood my typo, but you must watch it closely.
Integrations It connects Gmail, Slack, GitHub, LinkedIn, Notion, Amazon and PayPal. 8 Connected apps work inside Hark's computer without logging in again.
Wallet It stores cards and passwords in the encrypted Secured by Hark vault. 7 It's useful, but it's the feature I'd switch on last.
Home It combines spaces, Panels and Action Buttons on one screen. 9 It's clean, and you can even pay bills from it.
Panels It builds mini apps from a sentence you type. 9 It's the standout feature and genuinely fun to use.
Projects It keeps long-running work and files in dedicated threads. 8 It's ideal for events and work topics.
Proactive inbox It reads email and proposes action items for a yes or no. 8 It turns email into decisions instead of reading.
Side prompts and "show" It offers prompts like "quiet this" and a "show" function that pulls things into chat. 7 They're small touches that make the app feel polished.
Attachments and voice It accepts files and voice input. 6 It loses points because it doesn't speak back.
Scheduled tasks It manages recurring jobs you set up in chat. 8 It keeps background jobs visible in one place.
Prep my day It builds an itinerary from your calendar and inbox. 9 It's the feature I'd use every single morning.
Trip planning It finds camping spots, writes a packing list, says when to leave and books flights. 8 It's a strong showcase for Handoff.
Transparency It doesn't say which model runs the main assistant. 5 Builders will want to know what's under the hood.

Let me explain the scores that matter most.

Setup and the restaurant test

Hark recommends connecting email first, and I connected Gmail.

It then greeted me with, "Hi Julian. What's one thing on your plate this week I could take off?"

I asked it to book an Italian restaurant for Wednesday next week.

It asked how many people and what time, and I replied "6pm, two people" with a typo that it still understood.

It then started booking one of my favourite restaurants on its own computer screen, and I told it to stop before it completed.

That earns a high score for capability, but it's also the reason approvals matter so much.

Panels and Home

Panels are the feature that made me smile.

I typed that I wanted to track my productivity, and Hark asked whether I meant meeting hours versus focus time or a list of to-do tasks.

It offered to connect ClickUp or Asana to power it.

The example panels I saw covered calendar events, Shopify packages this week and new Apple Podcasts episodes.

You could also make panels for fitness, workouts or calorie tracking.

Home pulls all of that together with spaces and Action Buttons, which Hark calls "the evolution of notifications".

Proactive inbox and Prep my day

The proactive inbox reads your emails and proposes action items, and you just say yes or no.

"Prep my day" checks your calendar and inbox and builds the day's itinerary.

The example I saw said, "Your inbox is clean. Do you want me to pull in the sales numbers before your team sales meeting at 4 p.m.?"

That's what a proactive agent should feel like.

Voice, attachments and the side prompts

You can add attachments and talk to Hark with voice input.

It doesn't talk back, so voice is input only, which is why that row scores lowest among the everyday features.

The side prompts, such as "quiet this" and "close this notification", and the "show" function are small touches that make it feel finished.

Here's my earlier Grok Bot test, which is the comparison I kept coming back to while scoring Hark.

Hark AI Agent vs OpenClaw vs Grok Bot

These are the two comparisons I made in the video.

Criterion Hark OpenClaw Grok Bot
Setup score I'd give it 9, because it works out of the box. I'd give it 6, because you configure it yourself. I'd give it 6, because its onboarding is harder than Hark's.
Connected apps They work directly inside Hark's computer. They work however you wire them. I often had to log in again through its computer.
Control You control approvals but not the model. You control everything. xAI controls the setup.
Design It's the cleanest UI I've used on an agent. It's built for builders. It's functional.
Verdict It's the best pick for a personal agent today. It's the best pick for building your own system. It's a fit for people already inside Grok.

In my words from the video, Hark is a very simple, easy-to-use version of something like OpenClaw, straight out of the box.

Here's my OpenClaw computer use video if you want to compare the build-it-yourself route.

The Safety And Privacy Verdict

This is the section I'd read twice before connecting a wallet.

Hark's launch post says it will never sell your data or share it with advertisers, and that you can always delete it.

It also says passwords and cards sit in an encrypted vault that even Hark's staff can't see inside.

Hark's terms add a few details worth knowing.

  • They say you must be at least 18 years old to use Hark.
  • They say a transaction is authorised once you confirm it.
  • They say you can give Hark standing permission for a category of transactions, which then doesn't need fresh approval each time.
  • They say Hark isn't the merchant of record, so refunds follow each shop's own policy.
  • They say content reviewed for safety or misuse can be used for training even if you've opted out.

My rule is to keep confirmations on for every booking and payment until you've watched Hark finish several jobs correctly.

I score safety 7 out of 10, because the vault and privacy promises are strong but standing permissions are easy to over-grant.

What Model Powers The Hark AI Agent?

Hark hasn't officially named the model behind its main assistant.

What Hark has said is that Handoff is its own computer use model, which it post-trained itself.

Hark claims Handoff took the top spot on the Online-Mind2Web human evaluation leaderboard and beat GPT 5.4 by 8 points and Opus 4.8 by 2 points on average across its tests.

Those are Hark's own numbers, so treat them as vendor claims until someone independent repeats them.

Hark also says it's training smarter models and designing its own hardware.

Is Hark Worth Switching Agents For?

A viewer asked whether, after Hermes, Muse, Dots, Grok, OpenBot and now Hark, the differences are big enough to switch and configure everything from scratch again.

My verdict is no for most people who already have an agent that works.

Test Hark on one job, and only move if it clearly wins.

If you've never got a personal agent running, Hark is the easiest one to start with right now.

I made a similar call in my ChatGPT Dots vs Muse verdict and my Muse vs Instinct comparison, because the launches keep coming and the real skill is choosing jobs and approvals well.

If you prefer free and local over polished and hosted, my StarNet AI agent review covers the opposite end of the market.
