My verdict on the best AI agent course 2026 is the AI Profit Boardroom, which adds training as new agent tools ship and includes my Agent OS.
You should know that this is my own list on my own site, and the top two entries are my own communities.
The other six are well-known courses from Microsoft, Anthropic, DeepLearning.AI, Hugging Face and LangChain.
I opened every one of their public pages on 13 October 2026, and this post records exactly what each page showed about how current it is.
The Verdict In One Table
| Rank | Course | Provider | Free or paid, as shown | My verdict on how current it is |

| 1 | AI Profit Boardroom | Julian Goldie | Paid | It is my top pick because training follows the tools week by week. |
| 2 | AI Money Lab | Julian Goldie | Free | It is my best free starting point. |
| 3 | AI Agents for Beginners | Microsoft | Open source | Its lesson list is the broadest third-party match for the 2026 stack. |
| 4 | Anthropic Academy | Anthropic | Free | It is the strongest source for Claude Code, skills and MCP. |
| 5 | Agent short courses | DeepLearning.AI | Free enrol on several pages | It is the only provider here that printed an updated date on each page I checked. |
| 6 | AI Agents Course | Hugging Face | Free | It is a solid open-source framework course with a certificate. |
| 7 | LangChain Academy | LangChain | Free content | It is the pick for LangGraph teams and it teaches an agent harness. |

How I Judged Whether A Course Is Current
I used the same eight-point test on every course.
| Test | What I looked for on the public page |
|---|---|
| Agent harness | I looked for a named harness such as Hermes Agent, Claude Code or OpenClaw. |
| MCP | I looked for the Model Context Protocol in the syllabus. |
| Skills | I looked for skills, hooks or plugins. |
| Computer use | I looked for computer use or browser agents. |
| Multi-agent | I looked for several agents on one job, or a Kanban board. |
| Memory | I looked for a lesson on agent memory. |
| Free and local models | I looked for a free or local model option. |
| Agent OS | I looked for one dashboard that holds every agent. |
I also recorded any date the provider itself shows.
I did not take the third-party courses, so I am judging their public pages and not the quality of their teaching.
Nobody paid to be on this list.
Feature By Feature: What Each Course Page Lists
1. AI Profit Boardroom
The AI Profit Boardroom is my community, with 3,400+ members and four coaching calls a week.
It covers all eight tests, because my Agent OS runs Hermes Agent, Claude Code and OpenClaw on one dashboard with one shared memory and a Kanban board.
It has courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI.
The Skool page shows no last-updated date, so the fairest evidence I can offer is my dated public videos.
| Date in October 2026 | What I covered |
|---|---|
| 5 October | I covered the Hermes plugins marketplace with around 500 free community plugins. |
| 6 October | I covered Solar Mini 4, a free model for Hermes Agent. |
| 7 October | I covered Hark, a new consumer AI agent. |
| 8 October | I covered Herald OS, a free agent OS that runs on Hermes. |
| 12 October | I covered MissingNo, a free stealth model on Nous Portal. |
The video notes and tool links for those go inside the Boardroom.

Best for: It suits anyone starting from zero.
Cost: It is free.
3. Microsoft AI Agents For Beginners
The course repository is open source under the MIT licence.
The lesson list includes agentic protocols (MCP, A2A and NLWeb), the multi-agent design pattern, context engineering, agentic memory, computer use agents, local AI agents and securing agents.
That list matches five of my eight tests by name.
The page states that the code samples use Microsoft Agent Framework with Microsoft Foundry and need an Azure account.
The latest commit I saw was dated 13 October 2026, and it was a translation merge.

5. DeepLearning.AI Agent Courses
Each DeepLearning.AI page I opened printed an updated date next to the course length.

6. Hugging Face AI Agents Course
The Hugging Face AI Agents Course describes itself as free, and it offers a certificate of completion.
Its units cover smolagents, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, agentic RAG and a final project, with bonus units on function-calling, observability and evaluation.
Hugging Face also has a free MCP Course built in partnership with Anthropic.
The pages print no date, and the latest commit on each repository was a documentation tooling update on 6 October 2026.
Best for: It suits builders who prefer open-source frameworks.
Cost: Both courses are described as free.
7. LangChain Academy
LangChain Academy states that its course content is always free and that the paid offering is a certification exam.

What Changed In AI Agents In 2026
A course can only be current if it reflects what changed this year, so here is my short list from my own guides.
| Change | What it means | My guide |
|---|---|---|
| Hermes Agent v0.20, released 3 August 2026 | Voice you can interrupt, cited research, signed webhooks and agent-to-agent messaging arrived in one update. | Hermes v0.20 |
| Looping runs | An agent wakes up on a timer, checks the live state and stops itself when the job is done. | Hermes /loop |
| Background computer use | Hermes clicks and types in Mac apps without moving your cursor. | Computer use |
| The Agent OS | One dashboard, one shared memory and one Kanban board hold every agent. | AI Agent OS |
The v0.20 release also raised the iteration ceiling from 90 to 500 and added a one-line import for a Claude Code setup.
A self-paced loop backs off from one minute to fifteen minutes while nothing changes, which keeps the quiet hours cheap.
Computer use is still experimental, and my guide shows it struggling with a long reorganising job.
October 2026 kept moving, and I wrote up Herald OS, the Hermes plugins marketplace, Solar Mini 4 and MissingNo on this site.
Is This Course Outdated? My Checklist
| Check | A current course | An outdated course |
|---|---|---|
| Date | The provider shows a date from this year. | The page shows an old date or hides it. |
| Harness | It teaches a real harness by name. | It only teaches raw API calls. |
| MCP | MCP appears in the syllabus. | Tools are wired by hand in every lesson. |
| Skills | Processes are saved as skills. | The same prompt is pasted again each time. |
| Runs | Agents loop, schedule and run long jobs. | Every lesson is one prompt and one answer. |
| Memory | Agents remember between sessions. | Every session starts from zero. |
| Models | The models named are still in use. | The models named have been replaced. |
| Support | There is a community or a live call. | You are alone when the setup breaks. |
An outdated course is not a bad course.
It is a course that needs a second, newer source next to it.
Free Vs Paid In 2026
Most of the eight entries cost nothing to start, so price is not the barrier this year.
The gap between free and paid is support.
A free course gives you lessons and usually a forum.
A paid community gives you someone to ask when your install fails on a Tuesday night.
That is why I run both, with AI Money Lab as the free step and the Boardroom as the paid one.
Final Verdict
The AI Profit Boardroom is my number one for staying current, and AI Money Lab is my free pick.
Microsoft's AI Agents for Beginners has the broadest public syllabus of the third-party options.
DeepLearning.AI deserves credit for printing an updated date on its pages.
Anthropic Academy is where I would send a Claude Code user for skills and MCP.
